I do not believe there is any such thing as a SOUL MATE - and if I am wrong the BIG JOKE is on me! I believe that the PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS as a RIGHT has led to a lot of needless pain, exploitation, and false/artificial expectations. I prefer being around people who have subjected these sorts of issues to some introspection - and tend to NOT take for granted the world around us.

I recently lost my parents and my very best friend who I once lived with 6 years. Prior to this, I lost 3 of my long-time best cat buddies one right after the other - one died at the age of 22! So I am in the midst of a huge authenticity crisis and transitional grieving period.

Did anyone say life was supposed to be easy and painless? I have discovered, though, that it certainly is hard going through life's ups and downs alone.

Perhaps I could appreciate a philosophically enlightened carpenter or handyman - or a good therapist who likes to swing a hammer and rewire lamps! I am in the midst of remodeling my home and selling antiques and vintage art at the local antiques mall. I do restoration work and am a bit of a carpenter myself.

I am proud to say I once published a progressive activist political handbook for a nonprofit organization I founded. I am currently redefining my life and work. Unsure how to progress at the moment. Wondering if I should throw in the towel, decommission and retire completely then travel.

Another option I am considering is to buy a second house, rent my current one as a vacation rental, then adopt some foster girls and/or become a child advocate and further expand my workshop as a sort of mentoring extension of myself.

Maybe a screenwriter would be more appropriate? There is another path I began before all these deaths surrounded me. There are two screenplays I would like to write. One a true story - STORY PITCH: 4 neighborhood households clash, while investigator, encouraged by gossipers, assists female pyromaniac who failed to frame international conman for arson, while he worked church. Rivals PACIFIC HEIGHTS. It has to do with 2 arson fires that occurred at my home after publishing my book, which on the periphery includes some noted political figures and duplicitious federal agents.

Another great screenplay would be an updated version of EARTH ABIDES. Ever read it? My favorite book ever.

I am NOT here to find just a lover, as much as a best friend. Please, I welcome your thoughts and opinions. Perhaps this is the perfect time for you to take a working vacation in Cambria to visit a kindred soul or new friend. Or, maybe you have had some similar experiences you would like to share.
